Marble is a metamorphic rock consisting of recrystallized carbonate minerals, generally calcite or dolomite. Marble is commonly used for sculpture and as a building material for indoor or outdoor decorations. Pakistan  is one of the largest marble exporters of the world  with around a 100,000 tonnes export volume annually. China is the chief importer of marble, specifically Pakistani marble, with imports amounting to more than 70,000 tonnes in a single year. Finely grinded marble powder could be used as a component in paper, and in consumer products such as toothpaste, plastics, and paints. Marble is used in plastics because it stiffness, impact strength, dimensional stability, and thermal conductivity. It is also used in paints because it is a good filler and extender, and is weather resistant. There are different crushing plants which can produce marble powder with different fineness for various applications.

Marble beneficiation process

Nowadays, global economy is highly developed, the increasing volume of various mineral resources are required for many applications. As we all know, raw and Low grade marble doesn’t fit for final applications. It needs to be processed through beneficiation process. Several stages involves in marble beneficiation process, including crushing; grinding; sometime screening; gravity separation; magnetic separation and flotation etc. Crushing and grinding stages are aim to reduce the raw marble to fine particle size. Screening is the auxiliary process between the former two stages; it is for screen the required materials. Sometimes flotation-magnetic-gravity separation methods maybe used for refined marble concentrate for certain applications.

Marble beneficiation equipment

Marble beneficiation is to process the raw materials into specific products to achieve its economic value. In the beneficiation process, jaw crusher is known for primary crushing due to its big crushing ratio. Impact crusher and HCS cone crusher are excellent for secondary crushing.
